Introduction: Tegan, tell me about yourself, your personality, and your passion. How do you serve yourself? Also, how do you serve the community?

I am a single mum to an amazing 17-year-old boy. I was 21 years old and in my third year of a teaching degree when I found out I was pregnant. I was able to complete my final year with my son coming with me to all my classes, and then, when he was a year old, I began my career as a primary school teacher.
I was a teacher for 12 years, and I really loved it. Throughout that time, I taught across all year levels and subjects, which was a whole lot of fun. Working as a teacher was such a healing experience, especially for my inner child.
I love to cook and bake things from scratch. The process of all the steps and being able to put love into everything brings me a lot of satisfaction. I’ve grown to love quiet moments of stillness, especially ones with nature. But I also love to binge-watch TV shows of most genres. It is the small way I allow myself to escape when I need it.
My greatest passion has always been to create spaces where children feel safe to be seen and heard as themselves. When I worked as a teacher, I realised that my ability to do this was limited because parents had the greatest impact on this. As a teacher, my ability to impact was limited. So now I work with adults because adults who feel safe being themselves and can love and accept themselves can raise children who feel that way.
The biggest way I try to serve myself outside of my daily mindfulness practices is to do something each day that nourishes or excites my inner child. This could be listening to a song, watching something, cooking or eating a certain food, connecting with a friend, or doing an activity I loved as a child. When I say as a child, I can mean anywhere between birth and my twenties.
As a 2/4 Sacral Generator in Human Design, I approach serving the community by waiting to see what people call me out for or request from me. I am not designed to initiate in life; I am here to respond, so I really just wait to see what my community wants. I always find it works best that way for them and myself.
But my hope is that I empower people to love and accept themselves just as they are through self-compassion and kindness. This is the mark that I hope to leave and has been a throughline throughout my whole life, from when I taught ballet as a 14-year-old to when I was a primary school teacher to the work I do now. And what each person needs from me to do this is a little different, which makes this work a lot of fun.

- Definition!
For mums who are completely new to this, can you give us a fun, easy-to-understand breakdown of what the Akashic Records, Human Design, and Energy Healing are—and how they can help us in the chaos of motherhood?
The Akashic Records are an energetic library that exists and holds the recording of all the lifetimes our souls have lived in the past, present and future. I imagine them looking like the library that the Beast gives to Belle but on steroids. They hold a beautiful healing frequency, and how I channel them through then provides the people I hold space for exactly what they need at that moment to move forward from a place of alignment and inner peace.
Human Design is a complex system that maps how you are designed to function correctly in this life. It shows the correct way to make decisions, explains your emotional experience, how you take on and amplify energy from others, how you see and experience the world, and how you project energy out and condition others. I love how it is based on mechanics, mechanics within ourselves and mechanics within our relationships. It de-personalises many things and creates space to acknowledge and accept parts of ourselves that may have been hidden, or we thought were wrong. With parenting, it can show tension points between you and your child and help you know how to support them best to be themselves!
All my sessions are held within the energy of the Akashic Records, which provides energy healing to people. On top of that, I also work with Lemurian energy healing frequencies. The beautiful thing about this energy is that it carries the frequency of unconditional love and is such a gentle and nurturing energy to be held in. As mothers give their children so much love and nurturing, it is really nice for them to receive this energy through a healing session. These really help shift the deep unconscious things without having to dive deep and think about it, which, when you’re a busy mum, being able to lay back, relax and receive the healing energy is pretty perfect.

"If a mum could access the Akashic Records for parenting guidance, what's one surprising thing she might discover about herself or her child?”
I have the honour of working with a lot of women who have had a miscarriage or are dealing with fertility problems. The sessions I have with these women are always incredibly powerful.
Usually, the information that comes through the Akashic Records in regard to someone's miscarriage and why that soul wasn't ready to come earthside is always incredibly healing for them. I often have the souls of the babies that passed through come to me and share information with their mothers. Any guidance that comes through always lands for these women on a deep level and helps them release the trapped emotions and trauma they are still holding onto.
Working with women with fertility issues has been so powerful because often, the emotional and spiritual blockages that are impacting their fertility are often not what they expected. I feel really lucky that I then get to support women through these issues and support them through their fertility journey.
3.Human Design for Mums
"Human Design is all about living in alignment—how can mums use their unique design for parenting more easily instead of feeling like they're doing it 'wrong’?"
One of my favourite things about Human Design is that it has helped give me permission to honour the parts of myself or the beliefs that I have always carried but kept hidden. Being able to understand, accept, and honour these parts of myself has meant that I have been able to parent from a place that is more aligned with my inner truth.
The other amazing part of understanding Human Design is that it can depersonalise many things. It shows places where you are vulnerable and sensitive and helps you understand how they may be interplaying with your child's unique design… or even being triggered by your child's design.
When it comes to parenting, it has helped me create an environment for my son to be more aligned with his unique design. I haven't had to teach him about his design to do that; I have just had to develop my own understanding of how he is meant to function and create an environment where he is able to express that in a way that feels supportive and safe to him.
- Breaking Generational Patterns
"Can the Akashic Records reveal patterns passed down through generations? How can mums use this knowledge to break cycles and create a more aligned future for their kids?”
The Akashic Records definitely reveal patterns passed through generations. It is actually really wonderful in a session to see how those who come before us are liberated when we work through a generational pattern. It brings them such a sense of peace not only to the person in the session but to those throughout the generational line.
To me, knowledge is power. Knowing that a pattern is playing out allows you to cultivate awareness of when it is triggered for you. From this awareness, you can start observing the aspects of your life that trigger this pattern. Once you have this information, you can begin to catch yourself and make different choices. Things like speaking to yourself differently, developing compassion for yourself, putting boundaries in place, or discussing what is happening for you with someone you trust are all things that can help.
I have worked with a lot of mums who have had kids later in life who are into spirituality or self-development, and I have noticed they put a lot of pressure on themselves to clear all their generational patterns and trauma, so they don’t impact their kids at all. These people are usually incredibly dysregulated because they are in fear of doing something wrong or passing something onto their kids.
This is too much pressure to put on yourself. As hard as it can be to hear, we are all going to impact our kids somehow; it’s impossible not to with the world we live in. So, I believe an element of trust is needed. Trust that your kids choose you as their parents because the experience they have with you is the experience they are meant to have in life to grow to their greatest capacity on a human and soul level.
5. Intuition & Energy
"So many mums say, 'I feel like I've lost my intuition.' How can we reconnect with our intuitive selves using energy healing or Human Design?”
The body is the key. Intuition comes through the body. People go looking for things outside of themselves, but their body is always the answer. The Akashic Records, energy healing, and Human Design are all helpful tools in guiding you to practices that will best support you in connecting with your body. Different practices will be more effective for different people.
If you are feeling disconnected from yourself, you need to start making time to be present in your body. This can be as simple as taking a conscious breath throughout the day. A lot of people avoid this because they think it needs to be this big, long thing, but it can be really simple. As simple as a conscious breath. Finding small moments of presence in your body throughout the day will slowly tune you back into your body's needs, which then leads to a reconnection with your intuition.
6. Energy Drains & Fixes
"Mums are running on empty—what are some common energy drains we don't even realise we have? And how can we restore our energy in a way that works?”
Unconscious expectations we put on ourselves are a huge energy drain that we don’t realise are there. Lately, this is something I have been sitting with a lot personally. What unconscious beliefs and expectations do I have of myself as a parent that impact how I parent that I don’t even know are impacting me? When I have sat with this and contemplated past situations where something with my parenting has felt out of alignment or brought up a lot of guilt, I have identified the beliefs and expectations that were unconsciously playing out in those situations.
Once I discovered this, I have been able to notice when my unconscious behaviours impact me in the present and catch myself before they push me into action. So, each time I catch myself and choose from a conscious place, I am slowly reshaping my unconscious behaviours.
Also, not honouring your boundaries and saying no when you want to is a huge energy drain. As a recovering people pleaser, saying no can still be a challenge for me at times, but even if it is uncomfortable, I still honour it when I know I want to say no to something. Being a mum is a huge job, so worrying about keeping everyone else happy at the same time is going to be a one-way ticket to burnout or poor mental health. Remember that no is a complete answer; you don’t have to explain your no to anyone else.
7. Soul Purpose & Motherhood
"Motherhood is a huge identity shift! How can a mum use the Akashic Records to rediscover HER purpose beyond being 'just mum’?"
The Akashic Records taught me to let go of the need to discover and find my purpose, as this was blocking me from seeing the magic and beauty in my life. When you are fixated on where you are going in the future, you miss everything happening in life right now. You can only live your life in the present.
I often ask people ‘what is wrong with just being a mum right now if that is where life has led you?’ Being a mum is the greatest honour you can have in your life; why wish it away by feeling like you need to be more? For this moment in time, maybe your purpose is to be a mum. I don’t understand why society has conditioned us to believe that that isn’t enough. Whatever it is you chose to do in each moment is enough.
Often in Akashic Records sessions, when people ask about their soul purpose, they refuse to tell them because if the person knows, then they will be fixated on making that thing happen instead of just allowing life to take them on a journey and give them the experiences they need to get there. Ultimately, each moment, we are living our purpose. We are here to live a human life, which we do each moment we are alive. Anything we believe we need to be doing beyond that is just conditioned beliefs that have built up throughout our lives.
8. Manifestation & Motherhood
"Can mums use Akashic wisdom or energy healing to manifest more ease, joy, or even better sleep (because let's be real, we need that!)?”
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I am not into manifestation. I think it pulls people out of the present, brings up a lot of negativity and feelings of failure and not being good enough for people, is disempowering, and gets people fixated on things that aren’t aligned with them.
I say this because when you manifest, it is often for things in the future. But how do you know if the future version of you will even care about that thing? You don’t.
When what someone is attempting to manifest doesn’t it leaves them feeling like there is something wrong with them, that they failed and are not enough. It can emphasis or validate negative thought patterns.
It is much more powerful to ask yourself ‘what do I need at this moment to feel more aligned with who I truly am?’ That is where you actually have the power to create change in your life. I think it is much more supportive for people to use that energy to tune in to themselves and their bodies in the present, to practice self-compassion and kindness, and to use the present to create positive thought patterns instead of attaching self-value to what may come in the future.
9. Emotional Regulation for Mums & Kids
"When our kids are melting down, how can we regulate OUR energy, so we don't spiral into the chaos with them?”
Emotional regulation is huge. There is this assumption that an emotionally regulated person is someone who is emotionally level or doesn’t show emotions, but these are generally people who are just really good at suppressing their emotions and holding it all in. They are not actually regulating anything. To me emotionally regulated people are the ones that feel safe within themselves to feel the full spectrum of their emotions.
This suppressions of emotion is why the way kids feel their feelings is a lot for us to handle. Most of us don’t let ourselves feel our emotions, so we are not regulated. We have the lid to our emotions screwed on as tightly as possible.
Kids feeling their feelings is them regulating their emotions. Ever notice how quickly they bounce back after an emotional meltdown? It’s because they let themselves feel it. Then, when they were done, the emotion was done. They felt everything they needed to.
We feel dysregulated in those moments because we don’t know how to hold space for that type of emotion within ourselves, so we don’t know how to hold space for it with others or our children. This is why we usually get straight into fix-it mode, which is actually blocking the people/children we are helping from feeling their feelings.
The best thing you can do for yourself is to start letting yourself feel your feelings. Take baby steps with this. It isn’t something you can rush. Having practices that support you in being present in your body will help with this. But now, it will take time for you to build up the capacity of your nervous system to feel safe feeling these feelings.
10. Healing Mum Guilt with Energy Work
"Mum guilt is so real! Are there any Akashic insights or energy shifts that can help mums release that guilt and parent with more freedom?”
Mum guilt is such a challenging feeling. I think being able to accept and acknowledge that some level of guilt will pop up every now and again can take some of the pressure off ourselves when it happens. Instead of punishing ourselves when we experience it, we can meet ourselves with kindness and compassion and explore the root of the guilt, which can often be something that isn't actually related to parenting.
When I feel guilty, I like to journal about it. Journaling really helps me understand the guilt and whether it is something I should feel guilty about or not. When guilt swirls around in my head, it grows and grows. But when I write it down, it usually stops the rumination. It stops it growing and makes it easier to move through.
Also, when I find myself experiencing mum's guilt, I will ask myself if there is an action I can take to relieve my guilt. If there is an action, then I have the power to take it and relieve the guilt. If there is nothing I can do, then I have to acknowledge that I have no control over the situation and that I need to attempt to let go of the guilt (easier said than done sometimes). If I struggle to let go of it in a situation like this, I usually take it as a sign that the guilt is linked to something deeper for me to work through.

You need to develop more compassion for yourself before worrying about giving it to others, including your children. Having more compassion for yourself makes you a better parent, a better communicator, and a better partner. It is something you have to find within yourself first, and then the compassion you give to others comes from the overflow.
Compassion that doesn’t come from the overflow always has some form of string, expectation, or need for validation attached. But when it comes from the overflow, there is nothing that you need in return.

The more I do the inner work, the more I decondition and heal; the more I just feel like a kid. I probably feel more like a child now than I did when I was one. I love believing in the impossible and the magic that exists in the world. Living in the wonder of the simple beauty that exists around us that we miss due to our busy lives, like the butterfly flying past or the pink rose that is blooming. It feels so beautiful and simple and makes the times that life gets overwhelming or chaotic a little easier to navigate.
